GREEN DAY
GREEN DAY
High note cONCERT
April 2, 2024 · The Fillmore · San Francisco, California
Selected under the High Note Global criteria for artists whose body of work advances human dignity, five-time GRAMMY® Award-winning and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band Green Day headlined a historic night of music and climate action at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco.
For nearly four decades, Green Day has stood at the intersection of art and activism. From American Idiot's anti-war reckoning to the band's enduring commitment to civic engagement, political voice, and the rights of working people, Billie Joe Armstrong and his bandmates have made it clear that culture is never neutral. Their decision to lend that platform to the climate crisis brought generations of fans into the global conversation on environmental justice.
Presented by High Note Global in partnership with United Nations Human Rights and the Recording Academy, the benefit concert sold out in just three minutes — underscoring both Green Day's enduring cultural force and the urgent public appetite for bold climate engagement. Proceeds supported the Right Here, Right Now Climate Fund at MusiCares, directing resources to musicians and creators whose lives and work have been increasingly affected by the climate crisis.
The Fillmore audience — a sold-out room of fans, advocates, climate leaders, and UN representatives — turned the night into a statement that culture and policy belong on the same stage.
The Green Day High Note Concert was presented by the High Note Global Initiative.
