THE LUMINEERS

high note cONCERT

April 13, 2023 · Boulder Theater · Boulder, Colorado

Selected under the High Note Global criteria for artists whose body of work advances human dignity, the two-time GRAMMY®-nominated American folk-rock lead singer Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers headlined the inaugural Right Here, Right Now Mini Global Climate Concert — launching a new era of climate action through music at the historic Boulder Theater.

Joined by six-time GRAMMY®-nominated British powerhouse Yola, whose genre-defying voice and lifelong activism have earned her international acclaim, the sold-out evening brought together two of the most distinctive voices in contemporary music. Wesley Schultz has long been known for poetic lyricism and evocative storytelling about hardship, recovery, and the resilience of community — themes that translated naturally into a night dedicated to the climate crisis and those most affected by it.

Presented by High Note Global in partnership with United Nations Human Rights and the Recording Academy, proceeds from the concert supported the Right Here, Right Now Climate Fund at MusiCares, providing direct assistance to musicians and creators whose lives and work are increasingly affected by climate change.

As the inaugural High Note climate concert, the Boulder evening set the template for what would follow at the Fillmore in San Francisco and at the New Theatre Oxford — a new model in which the world's most resonant artists lend their platforms to causes that matter most.

The Lumineers High Note Concert was presented by the High Note Global Initiative.
